Three Hearts Beating

We have experienced the good, bad, and ugly between my husband and me in our relationship. We have not always been the definition of a model couple. Once, we were screaming at each other in front of our doctor's office. My mom witnessed the event and acted like she didn't know us. We laugh about it now, but this was not our best moment.

I wrote the song "Three Hearts Beating" from a strong desire in my heart to help others. I am not perfect, and I had to depend on my faith, repentance, and forgiveness. I wrote in the song, "You held more than my heart; there was a much bigger part than two hearts beating." I wanted to show that it took more than Jerry and me to keep our relationship alive. We give all credit to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

We had to look beyond our faults and choose to stay in the relationship. I like the part of my song where I say, "Because you were the one I wanted for all time." I believe we are perfect for each other. The perfection lies in our acceptance of each other even when we have stains, pains, and scars that can't be covered up.

Instead, we let our faith give us the grace we needed to keep the love and fire alive. On one anniversary, Jerry gave me a picture that now hangs on our wall. It says, "Marriage takes three to be complete. It is not enough for two to meet. They must be united in love by loves creator God above. A marriage that follows God's plan takes more than a woman and a man. It needs oneness that can only be from Christ."

I hope my song encourages you in your relationships and gives you a desire to hope when there is no hope in sight. There is always a light, no matter how dark it seems.

Love Jackie
